Stretched

We rest

in the middle of

almost all the way down

and

nearly to the top,

middle-held,

reaching between polars,

trying to come close to the Gods

and uphold our humanity

while dressed in

gummy limbs,

bulky bottoms,

swelling domes,

and rumpled secret parts.

Awkward is the human.

Remarkable is the experiment.
